Wycliffe evacuates from Indonesia, plans move from OC

Huntington Beach-based Wycliffe Bible Translators foreign arm, Summer Institute of Linguistics, evacuated 40 people from economically troubled Indonesia on Jan. 21 because of increasing Muslim conflicts with Christians there.

"We evacuated our international team of 21 linguists and their families as a precautionary withdrawal resulting from strife that escalated between two religious groups in Ambon; the evacuation was not triggered by financial depression in that area," said Stuart Shepherd, coordinator for crisis management ...
