Large pulp project may no longer be a pipedream

The Lithuanian pulp and paper industry has existed since the 1600s and today five small scale paper mills are in operation. The use of wastepaper as raw material is common because pulp production is limited and this has held back production levels.

But the industry could be about to move into a new era. Studies performed by Japanese development specialists in Lithuania over the last six months have confirmed the feasibility of establishing a large pulp mill in the country.
