Abstract. Although Eva Duarte de Peron was an historical figure whose life can be reconstructed on the basis of certain historical data and documents, a representation of her political and cultural significance is no longer a question of fidelity to history but of fidelity to an idea or image of her that encompasses what she has come to represent.
