ALCHEMIST OF WAR: THE LIFE OF BASIL LIDDELL HART by Alex Danchev, (Wiedenfeld and Nicholson, London, 1998), 25, 369 pages

Alex Danchev's book is important to RUSI because Liddell Hart wrote and lectured for the Institute over many years, was awarded the Chesney Gold Medal, was associated with his mentor and collaborator, Boney Fuller, within its context, and devoted a large part of his life to the study of war, which is also the agenda of RUSI, although now called Defence Studies.
