Carbon County textile firm cuts itself a new niche

Despite textile firms closing all around, one Carbon County business found a way to beat the odds and remain open.

Danti Inc., founded in 1985 by Nicholas J. Totani Sr., is a textile firm that no longer sews. Instead, the core business has shifted to cutting and warehousing.

Like other textile firm owners, 50-year-old Nick J. Totani will tell you that the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) sounded the death knell for his industry. It forced him to close the sewing end of the operation.
