CE, OPC, 'embedded NT' shine brightly on Microsoft's 18-month radar

Look for Microsoft's CE operating system and a still-under-wraps Microsoft NT development effort called the "Impala Project" to become the bedrock for building future "embedded" process and other manufacturing control applications. Meanwhile, the OLE for process control (OPC) technology, designed to standardize interfaces among disparate software and hardware devices running Windows NT-based applications, is snowballing.
