Stora Enso has shut down pulp line #1 at the Kaukopaa plant of its Imatra Mills complex in Finland. The closure of the 180,000 tonne/yr bleached pine pulp unit follows the startup of the company's huge new 600,000 tonne/yr hardwood pulp line #3 in April this year.

Line #1 is to be dismantled over the next couple of years, although a firm schedule has not yet been set.
