SISTERSVILLE -- When Janet W. Wells, president and general manager of Sistersville Tank Works, Inc. (STW), started with the company in the 60s, she never imagined she would one day own the company.

"The great American Dream is not to marry the boss, but to become the boss," Wells said.

STW manufactures boiler components, tanks and pressure vessels used in the chemical manufacturing process and other related industries. Wells, who worked for STW for 25 years before purchasing the company, started at the bottom and worked her way up to bookkeeper, she said.
