SANTA MARIA, CA-A cataract incision of 2 mm or less results in a stable anterior chamber, yields excellent visual acuity results, and requires reduced instrumentation.

"Some say cataract incisions are already small enough, but that's what they were saying when we went from 12-- to 6-mm incisions, from 6- to 3-mm, and from 3- to 2.8-- mm, so theoretically, it makes sense to reduce incision size, if all other things are equal," said Stephen S. Bylsma, MD.
