Hershey publisher to expand audience

Rival publishers may boast swank addresses in Boston or New York. But Idea Group Inc. counts on the cachet of Hershey.

The company's home isn't just wellknown. It also offers a lower cost of doing business compared with big-city publishing centers, said Mehdi Khosrow-Pour. He founded Idea Group in 1988.

Idea Group publishes scholarly books and journals on information technology, a field that has been robust despite the dot-com slump, Khosrow-Pour said. About 70 percent of the company's buyers are university libraries around the world.
