I. INTRODUCTION
CUSPIDINE (3CaO [middot] 2SiO^sub 2^ [middot] CaF^sub 2^) is one of the most important compounds crystallized in mold flux films during casting in the continuous casting process of steel. The crystallization affects the heat transfer by scattering radiation in the flux films and forming an air gap between the mold and films.[1-6] In order to discuss the crystallization behavior of cuspidine, a phase diagram is necessary for the basic ternary system, CaO-SiO^sub 2^-CaF^sub 2^.
