As I WRITE THIS, we have just narrowly avoided a major bombing attack on Iraq. By the time you read it, another armed confrontation may be grabbing the headlines. Certainly there will be news of two or three conflicts somewhere in the world tucked away on the back pages of the newspaper. It would seem that these are clearly not "the days to come" to which Micah refers. It appears that war, like poverty, is always with us. How then does the preacher responsibly proclaim the good news of Micah? Is it simply a vision for the future, an unrealized dream that has little or no impact on present ...
