Women in ancient history

Many of these ancient women are known in academic circles, but you won't find them in high school history books. Some were disloyal, some plotted against their husbands to gain their position -- assassination being a common method of command in early times.

All of them, however, altered the course of history. And as for the question of disloyalty, well, that depends on who wrote the history book, doesn't it?
