Two former CIBC World Markets colleagues have formed Houston's newest energy investment bank. Allen Parks and Joe Hoepfl have founded Parks Hoepfl & Co., focused on oilfield service and supply companies. Michael Sulton, who also was at CIBC, is a corporate finance analyst and associate at the firm.

"Our philosophy is that the real work begins with the engagement letter, it does not end there," Parks told Petroleum Finance Week. "We provide what a larger firm can provide, but with small-firm attention. The preponderance of our work probably will be for less than $100 million in deal ...
