Do you really know what your ink costs? Are your job profits sitting on a storage shelf? When preparing an estimate for sheetfed lithography the ink costs are estimated at 2% to 5% of the job cost. When was the last time you actually checked that? What does it really matter? It is only 2% to 5%. The problem is if you are under-ordering ink you might be using twice as much as you billed the customer and if you are using half as much ink you might be over estimating the bill by 2% to 5%.
