There are some com posers that appeal only to a minority, and there are those few that reach and touch everyone. Edvard Grieg was unique in many ways. Admired and respected by Brahms and Tchaikowsky, he became a source of inspiration to Delius. Unlike these three masters, Grieg came from a land without a long tradition of great composers.
