After 40 years of practice and the opportunity to serve in many capacities within the profession, perhaps my view of its current status has been influenced by the changes I have witnessed throughout my career. Some of the developments have been monumental, seminal events that advanced the profession; others have been actions that truly bordered on professional genocide.
