Walhalla ethanol plant set to reopen in August

WALHALLA, N.D. -- The ADM Corn Processing ethanol plant in Walhalla will reopen in August, three years after closing its doors.

Leaders from Archer Daniels Midland Co., the plant's owner, informed local plant officials of the decision Friday morning. The plant will employ about 40 people, 10 fewer than it had when it closed in August 1995.

"We will immediately start hiring staff to go into full production as soon as possible. We're shooting for mid-August," said Harvey Amidon, plant manager.
