INTRODUCTION

In this review, papers addressing fate and transport processes are considered first. These papers are separated into water-saturated systems, vadose zone systems, and systems containing nonaqueous phase liquids (NAPLs). Within each of these categories, the articles are divide d further based on physical, chemical, and biological processes relevant to each system. Next, papers dealing with groundwater monitoring and field studies of contaminant fate and transport are discussed. Groundwater remediation then is treated with papers grouped by technology.
