SPECT useful in assessing post-trauma amnesia

The results of a study on the efficacy of SPECT in the assessment of amnesia after mild head trauma were reported by Lorberboym et al. from Tel Aviv University (Tel Aviv, Israel) in an article published in July (Am J Emerg Med. 2002;20:310-313). The authors compared the duration of amnesia after mild head trauma with SPECT perfusion and CT imaging performed in 16 patients shortly after admission to the emergency department (ED).
