Consumers up-to-date
|
There has been a steady long-term improvement in the ability of UK consumers to manage their personal finances, according to credit reference agency, Equifax, which has found an increasing proportion of up-to-date credit agreements.
Equifax analysed nearly 130 million UK consumer credit accounts, including credit cards, mail order and car loans. In the first quarter of 1998, 93.5 per cent of consumers were fully up-todate with their repayments. This compares with 93 per cent in the first quarter of 1997 and 92.5 per cent in the first quarter of 1996.
