Library directors shouldn't overlook the best marketing resource they have: the library staff. They should teach staff members to look at every customer transaction as a marketing opportunity. Library staff should be trained to:

* Ask if there's anything else they can do.

* Mention library products and services which might meet the patron's needs (remember McDonald's "Would you like fries with that?").
