Twenty three clinical isolates of M. tuberculosis and the reference strain, M. tuberculosis H37Rv were tested for their susceptibility to trifluoperazine (TFP) by the standard broth dilution method and the bioluminescence assay. The results showed that in 15 of the 23 isolates, the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) was identical in both the methods and in the remaining 8 isolates the difference in the MIC values between the methods, was less than two fold and was not significant. The fin...

Dilution-based emissions sampling from stationary sources: Part 2--gas-fired combustors compared with other fuel-fired systems.(TECHNICAL PAPER)(Report)
Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association ; ABSTRACT With the recent focus on fine particle matter ([PM.sub.2.5 new, self-consistent data are needed to characterize emissions from combustion sources. Such data are necessary for health assessment and air quality modeling. To address this need, emissions data for gas-fired combustors are

Comparison of disc diffusion & E test methods with agar dilution for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Haemophilus influenzae
Indian Journal of Medical Research ; Background & objectives: Reliable methods of detection of antimicrobial resistance are of paramount importance in the treatment and management of infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae. The objective of the present study was to compare and evaluate the performance of disc diffusion and E
Phenotypic characteristics of clinical isolates of Klebsiella pneumoniae & evaluation of available phenotypic techniques for detection of extended spectrum beta-lactamases
Indian Journal of Medical Research ; Background & objectives: Identifying organisms that harbour extended spectrum beta lactamases (ESBLs) is a major challenge for a diagnostic clinical microbiology laboratory. Wide variety of ESBLs produced and lack of a sensitive phenotypic method for their detection make the detection of ESBLs
