Summary. A new species of Xylaria (Xylariaceae, Ascomycola) from western Cameroon is described on teleomorphic nad cultural characters.

INTRODUCTION

The following new species of Xylaria was one of eight species of the genus discovered in the course of the botanical inventory of the Mabeta-Moliwe Forest (now known as Bimbia-Bonadikombe), the largest intact area of forest in the eastern foothills of Mount Cameroon (Cheek 1992) in South-West Province, Cameroon.
