Gondolininae, a new Carboniferous productide brachiopod subfamily
|
ABSTRACT-The upper Lower Carboniferous, Serpukhovian (=Chesterian) productide brachiopod genus Gondolina, from China, is made the type for the new subfamily Gondolininae in the Aulostegidae. Sectioned specimens reveal an unusual posterior dorsal flap of shell partially covering the ventral interarea.
THE GENUS Gondolina was introduced by Jin and Liao in 1966 with the new species G. weiningensis from Lower Carboniferous, Serpukhovian, rocks in Guizhou Province, China as the type-specie...

Ontogeny of Stringocephalus Gubiensis and the origin of Stringocephalus
Journal of Paleontology
; ABSTRACT.-A growth series of Stringocephalus gubiensis, described here, reveals that the cardinal process of Stringocephalus originated from a bilobate structure, and the growth of its dorsal median septum is highly related to cardinal process development. From this observation we conclude that

SHELL STRUCTURE AND ITS BEARING ON THE PHYLOGENY OF LATE ORDOVICIAN-EARLY SILURIAN STROPHOMENOID BRACHIOPODS FROM ANTICOSTI ISLAND, QUEBEC
Journal of Paleontology
; ABSTRACT-Four shell types are recognized from strophomenide brachiopods from Anticosti Island based on their fibrous or laminar character and on the type of taleolae. The shell types consistently co-vary with the types of cardinal process and style of socket plates. Treating shell structure as a
