Crinum bambusetum, a new species of Amaryllidaceae from North East Africa

INTRODUCTION

Among the collections made by Christof Herrman between 1999 and 2001 from Benishangul-Gumuz National Regional State, formerly partly in Wollega (WG) and partly in Gojam (GJ) Floristic Regions, there are a number of new records including specimens of a Crinum species not included in the Flora of Ethiopia and Eritrea (Edwards et al. 1997, Nordal 1997). Recently one of the authors (SD) made additional collections and field observations in the area. This paper describes the new species and compares it with related taxa.
