Lost Vocabularies: On Contemporary Elegy

As I begin my exploration into today's efforts at writing memorable elegies, I find I return to a graffito on the front of a condemned corner bakery in Richmond, Virginia. Some rogue street artist had spray-painted the bust of one of our foremost contemporary elegists, the late Larry Levis, over the bakery's white door.
