HICKORY RECEIVES HONORABLE MENTION IN UNITED STATES TENNIS ASSOCIATION'S BEST TENNIS TOWN COMPETITION

HICKORY, N.C., July 28 -- The city of Hickory issued the following press release:
Hickory is one of seven communities across the country to receive an honorable mention in the inaugural United States Tennis Association's (USTA) 2009 Best Tennis Town USA competition.
The three communities that received the most votes are Midland, MI, Ojai, CA, and Independence, KS. On September 6 during the US Open in New York, the three top vote getters will find out if they are the Grand Prize ($100,000), Second Prize ($50,000), or the Third Prize ($25,000) winner.
