Sri Dalada Maligawa annual Perahera commences on July 27

Colombo, July 10 -- Diyawadana Nilame Nilanga Pradeep Dela announcing the routes and the dates of the Annual Esala Maha Perahera of the Sri Dalada Maligawa Kandy said the Perehera has been scheduled to be held from July 27 to August 6.

He said there were a few changes in the routes for the convenience of the devotees who were expected in larger numbers than in other years. He added that the first day of the Kumbal Perahera on July 27 would take a longer route than in previous years, which was confined to the Palace square or Pansala Para earlier.
