SC grants Leave to fr application

Colombo, July 10 -- The Supreme Court granted leave to a fundamental rights application filed by four surgeons challenging an appointment of Consultant Surgeon to Sri Jayewardenapura General Hospital (JGH) by the Health Minister.

The petition was filed by four Consultant General Surgeons Dr. W. D. Mahanama Gunasekera of Pitakotte, Kotte, Dr. Chandrasiri Karapitiya Pathirana of Kalapaluwawa, Rajagiriya, Dr. Jagath Roshan De Costa Dassenaike of Colombo 5 and Dr. A. N. Kirthi Abayajeewa of Dehiwala.
