ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 1 -- Olivier Marty of Lyons, France, and Volodymyr Lysenko of Villeurbanne, France, have developed a method of altering the property of a thin film. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,553,369 on June 30.

The patent has been assigned to Universite Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Villeurbanne Cedex, France.
