This is only the second Bruckner recording ever made by the Toronto Symphony. Back in 1965, Hermann Scherchen led the orchestra in a radio broadcast performance of the Bruckner Second that was disfigured by a huge cut in the finale. If you are curious to hear it, Scherchen's strangely bipolar reading (his only surviving Bruckner) is now available via the Internet on a very cheap mono Disco Archivia CD-R.
