GUWAHATI, Sept 13 -- The Indian Bhakti movement in the middle ages helped maintaining social balance in the country. This was the observation made by noted historian Professor Ramakanta Chakrabarty. He was delivering the 13 th Professor Maheswar Neog Commemoration Lecture at the auditorium of the Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture here.
