Perioperative catecholamine use and adverse cardiac outcomes
|
Perioperative catecholamine use in heart surgery may be associated with an increased risk of postoperative adverse cardiac outcomes, according to results from a prospective nonrandomised cohort study.
Of the 657 patients who met the inclusion criteria, 84 patients received catecholamines intraoperatively and/or within 48 hours of cardiopulmonary bypass and were included in the 'catecholamine group'.
