The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene issued the following news release:

Governor Martin O'Malley today announced that a Maryland public mental health program has been recognized with a national HOPE Award. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's (DHMH) TAMAR Program was awarded a Letter of Commendation by the federal Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS). This was one of four HOPE awards presented and Maryland is the only state to be recognized for its efforts.
