California, Kansas Inventors Develop S-Adenosylmethionine Inhibitor Assaying Method

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 1 -- Chong-Sheng Yuan and Qi-Zhuang Ye, both of San Diego, and Sheng-Xue Xie of Lawrence, c., have developed a S-adenosylmethionine inhibitor assaying system.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to methods for assaying inhibitors for S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolases and assaying inhibitors for S-adenosylmethionine-dependent methyltransferases. The methods are amenable for use in high throughput formats. Kits for performing the methods are also provided."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,384,760 on June 10.
