SENATE APPROVES RESOLUTION HONORING FORMER NORTH CAROLINA SEN. HELMS

The office of Sen. Richard Burr, R-N.C., issued the following news release:
U.S. Sens. Elizabeth Dole and Richard Burr helped introduce a resolution honoring former North Carolina Senator Jesse Helms, who passed away on July 4, 2008. All 100 Senators co-sponsored the resolution, which passed yesterday evening, and American flags adorning the Capitol remain at half-mast in honor of Senator Helms' service to the nation.
