When the smoke clears and the numbers are tallied, it won't take an investigator with Dominic Da Vinci's forensic skills to determine the fate that befell one of Canadian TV's most storied drama series.

It's pretty much as simple as this: if The Quality of Life (which airs tonight at 8 on CBC) gets boffo ratings, there might still be life in the Da Vinci's Inquest/City Hall franchise. Otherwise, the show will be just another casualty of the CBC's current programming régime.
