Fueled by piledriving power ballads, Quasimodo has landed at the Bailiwick. Dennis DeYoung's long-gestating musical version of Victor Hugo's epic novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame resonates with the thunderous reverb of a million money notes. Think of it as Andrew Lloyd Webber with fewer notes and more bombast. What we've got here is a balls-out, ear-piercing jackpot of shamelessly overwrought three-chord histrionics. ...
