KJERFVE HONORED BY BRAZILIAN OCEANOGRAPHY SOCIETY

Texas A&M University issued the following news release:
Björn Kjerfve, dean of the College of Geosciences, was presented a medal in a special tribute at the opening of the biennial meeting of Associação Brasileira de Oceanografia (Brazilian Association for Oceanography) held in Fortaleza, Brazil. Kjerfve was recognized for his 25-year involvement with oceanography in Brazil. He was cited for being "an internationally renowned researcher who has supervised numerous Brazilian oceanography students and performed studies to develop oceanography in Brazil".
