For Jerome Robbins, choreography was all about the process.

Sometimes a tyrant and often a genius, choreographer and director Jerome Bobbins became an internationally recognized name through his work on the Broadway musicals West Side Story, Gypsy and Fiddler on the Roof, but his heart was with the ballet world. And while he displayed all the traits of the ultimate perfectionist, his goal was to make his vision of art work onstage. Anything less was unacceptable.
