US$170-200 million boost for India's technical textiles industry

Prompted by the Prime Minister, the Indian Government is set to approve plans to fund the development of its technical textiles industry. Over the next five years, as much as $170-200 million will be provided, reports Reena Mital.
Technical textiles in India are generating great interest, especially in the manufacturing sector. Use of technical textile products in the country is increasing steadily, with imports fuelling the growth in consumption1.
