Mosquitoes will not pose a big problem in Winnipeg over the next couple of weeks, but a cankerworm infestation is coming before the summer.
A "very small emergence" of adult nuisance mosquitoes is expected within the next week to 10 days because cool weather and low soil moisture have kept a lid on the population, city entomologist Taz Stuart said Thursday.
