Interactions of Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulfonate and Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate with Gelatin: A Comparison
|
Abstract
The interaction of SDS/SDBS in aqueous gelatin solutions is studied above the gelation temperature by viscosity and circular dichroism (CD) measurements. The steep rise observed in the relative viscosity can be due the structural transitions leading to micellar growth of higher order. Circular dichroism spectra indicated that gelatin helped in inducing the sphere[arrow right]rod transition, without suffering any conformational changes within it. The findings are particularly s...

The thermal stability of immunoglobulin: Unfolding and aggregation of a multi-domain protein
Biophysical Journal
; ABSTRACT The denaturation of immunoglobulin G was studied by different calorimetric methods and circular dichroism spectroscopy. The thermogram of the immunoglobulin showed two main transitions that are a superimposition of distinct denaturation steps. It was shown that the two transitions have

Engaging with each other: how interactions between teachers inform professional practice
Teaching History
; What kinds of interaction take place in a history department? What might be their value? Between 1999 and 2003, Simon Letman, then history teacher and Director of Studies at The Royal Hospital School in Ipswich, set out to discover how the rich variety of between-teacher-interactions, so much a

Circular Dichroism of the Photoreceptor Pigment Oxyblepharismin
Photochemistry and Photobiology
; ABSTRACT Circular dichroism (CD) was used to study the structure of oxyblepharismin (OxyBP), the photoreceptor chromophore for the photophobic response of the blue form of Blepharisma japonicum. Both the chromophore associated to its native protein and the free chromophore in ethanol solution were
