New York Polyphony is a group of four singers (Scott Dispensa, Craig Phillips, Geoffrey Silver, and Geoffrey Williams) whose repertoire spans the musical ages from medieval chant to 21st-century liturgical compositions. Recently, in conjunction with the release of their new CD, "I Sing the Birth," I shared a pleasant lunch with them, as well as an enjoyable and enlightening discussion about their musical aspirations and performance practice.
