THIS year is the 125th anniversary of a significant event in Winnipeg's social and ethno-cultural history -- the 1882 arrival in the Manitoba capital of about 350 Russian Jewish refugees, who were fleeing physical attack and political persecution.
Their arrival marked the real beginning of the Winnipeg Jewish community.
