Blessed Sacrament building may be part of new merged Catholic school

MARGATE - Blessed Sacrament supporters held out hope Wednesday that the school building will not close in June after all, but a spokesman for the Camden Diocese said that possibility is not likely.

Blessed Sacrament parents and officials said that the name will still change and the school will still formally merge with St. James in Ventnor but that the diocese agreed Wednesday to let the Margate building stay open if there isn't enough room in Ventnor for all the students who want to go to the new school.
