They came by planes, trains and automobiles - and by buses and on their feet. A sea of Americans, mostly Black, estimated by local Louisiana police officials at between 15,000 and 20,000 and by some organizers at as many as 50,000, descended on sleepy Jena, La., in solidarity with the six young men who have been accused of aggravated assault - and the possibility of sentences of more than 20 years in prison - for what many called a schoolyard fight with a White Jena High School student.
