Agri merchandise exports grow in end-July despite weak dollar
|
Despite the fast appreciation of the peso against the dollar, Philippine farm-sector exports grew in the first seven months of the year, the Department of Agriculture said Thursday.
Agriculture Undersecretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said that sales of farm products abroad increased by 9.02 percent to $1.66 billion at end-July, even as the peso was still at the 45-to-a-dollar level.
