Bilan provisoire 14 morts, 21 blessés, des dégâts matériels
Le passage de l'ouragan tropical « Dean » en Haïti, dans la nuit du 18 au 19 août, n'a pas occasionné les grands dommages anticipés. Toutefois, il s'est abattu sur les départements du sud, du sud-est et du sud-ouest tuant au moins quatre personnes et blessant plus de 20 tandis que des dégâts matériels importants ont été enregistrés. C'est le bilan, du reste provisoire, fait à la presse par la Protection civile.
